SmarterMail 5.0 Mail Conversion

Spam Filtering - No Longer Mail Armory

For those clients that have been using Mail Armory, we will have switched you to the SmarterMail 5.0 spam and antivirus filtering service. Your captured mail will arrive in the junk email folder on the smartermail web system. You must check here for your spam messages- there are no user settings that need to be adjusted- the tolerances have been tested and are very accurate to detect spam. However the mailadmin for your system has the ability to override the default settings. If the mailadmin has any questions about adjusting spam settings, contact Bill or Matt ONLY at 970-266-0703.

Make sure to clear out your junk email, sent items folder, and IMIP folder in the smartermail web interface if applicable, often and clear the deleted items folder, these folders do add to disk usage for your domain and it is limited to 500mb or 1/2gb. Once these limits are reached- you will not be able to receive email until user folders are cleaned out. We are enforcing limits on data sizes for each domain so all users have the same experience when using the system. The mail server is not backed up and therefore we cannot be responsible for lost or rejected messages.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Make sure your username is your full email address
  • If you are having trouble sending email, check that the setting for the "outgoing server requires authentication" is checked.
