Network Technician/Administrator – 01/2012

Our company supports and maintains network systems in northern Colorado. This position requires onsite as well as offsite work, therefore reliable transportation is a must. Position requires 20-30 hours per week.

The network technician is responsible for the continued and ongoing network support, maintenance and projects for our clients, and to continually look for suggestions and recommendations that are appropriate for the client and for their benefit.

Specific Accountability:

  • Direct communications with clients, including recommendations for hardware and software.
  • Desire to learn and continue to expand on expertise of new products and hardware
  • Quoting of systems and software and making sure the client is aware of the benefits of our recommendations
  • Be able to adjust schedules according to work load and be able to take calls as they come in and complete or schedule the request to the customers satisfaction in a timely manner
  • Meeting with clients regularly to discuss recommendations and ongoing network support issues
  • Provide consultation for network, antivirus, backup and web strategies for new and existing clients.
  • Assist in presentations and business development efforts with strategic thinking, research and analysis.

Specific Requirements

  • At least 3 years experience working in the network administrator or technician role
  • Strong network skills working with Microsoft Products, including selling, installation and support is required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft server products, PC workstation products as well as system hardware component and configurations.
  • Must be able to recommend, implement, and support, hardware firewalls, email systems, data servers, Web and SQL servers.
  • Experience with Backup software and antivirus solutions, including implementation and support.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task with solid time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, open environment
